Q. What is National Cadet Corps?
The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is a youth development movement. It has enemorus potential for nation building. The NCC provides opportunity to the youths of the country for all round devlopdevel with a sense of duty, Commitment, Dedication, Discipline and Moral values so that they become leaders useful citizens. The NCC provide exposure to the cadets in a wide range of activities with a distinct emphasis on Social Service, Discipline and Adventure training. The NCC is opened to all regular students of schools and colleges on a Voluntary basis . The students have nobliability for active military service.
Q. When did NCC come into existanex?
Under the National Corps Act XXXI of 1948. Passed in April 1948; Came into existance on 16 July 1948.
Q. When is the NCC Day observed?
It is observed on the fourth Sunday of November.
Q. Is NCC program part of Educational activity or Military activity?
Educational Activity.
Q. Can a student at College level take NCC as a Core in the field of Education course?
No. It is Voluntary Organizational activities.
Q. What is the Motto of NCC?
"Unity and Discipline".

It is the NCC crest in gold in the middle, with the letter "NCC" encircled by a wreath of seventeenth lotus with a background in Red, Blue and Light blue.
Q. What does the colour Red, Dark Blue and Light Blue in the NCC crest depicts?
Red depicts the Army, Dark Blue depicts the Navy and Light Blue depicts the Air Force.
Q. What does the Lotus flower in NCC crest depicts?
The 17 Lotus represent the 17 state Directorates.
Q. Where is the NCC Headquarter at the National level located?
New Delhi.

It is the National level HQ's.
Q. What is a NCC Directorates?
The NCC at the state level is divided into 17 directorates, in which each states forms a Directorate. Each directorates is under the command of officer equivalent to the rank of a Brigadier of its equivalent from the other two service.
Q. What is a NCC Group?
The Directorates are sub-divided into groups, which varies according to the size of a State under the command of an Officer rank of Colonel. In all there are 95 group HQ's in a country.
Q. What is NCC unit?
The group are further sub-divided into battalions,by a Lt. Col. or its equivalent from the other two service.
Q. What is NCC Company?
The sub-unit in Colleges and plus two institutions, having SD/SW Cadets is a Company. It is mandatory that the cadets of a particular company are from the same institution having the sub-unit.
Q. How many NCC unit can be alloted to an institution?
There are no fixed numbers.
Q. If I join NCC, is it compolsary for me to join the Armed force?
No.
Q. What is the age limit for a student to join NCC?
For JD/JW Cadets : 12-18½
For SD/SW Cadets: upto 26 years of age.
Q. Are any fees to be paid for enrollment as an NCC Cadets?
No fees are required to pay for enrollment in NCC.
Q. What is the duration of an NCC programme?
For JD/JW Cadets: 2 years
For SD/SW Cadets: 3 years with 1 year extension.
Q. As a SD/SW what certificate(s) will I earn?
"B" and "C" certificates.
Q. What is the uniform in NCC?
Army Cadets wear Khaki uniform. Naval Cadets wear white uniform of Navy. Air force cadets wear blue uniform similarly to Air force.

Yes.

Yes.

A cadet selected as a member of the Directorates contingent, for the Republic Day cam at Delhi, can be selected from the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi.

3). Attachment Training.
4). Social Service and Community Development activities.

Yes. If you're selected for centrally Organised Camps/Youth Exchange Program.

Yes.
Q. Is it compolsary for NCC cadets to donate Blood/Irgans?
No.
Q. How many UT/States does NCC cover all over the Country?
All the States and UT.
Q. Do NCC units have any connection with other Voluntary Organizations?
Yes. Community Development and Social Service activity.
Q. Do NCC Cadets work in Natural Disasters and Calamities?
Yes. With a prior permission from the parents.
Q. Who is responsible for the conduct of NCC activities in an institution?
The ANO is in control of the cadets and is responsible to plan & organise trainings with the assistance of the Permanent Instructional (PI) staff, detailed by the NCC unit
Q. Is Army training given to NCC Cadets? If so, for what purpose?
Yes. It exposes cadets to a regimented way of life which is essential for including the values of discipline, dutifullness, punctuality, smartness, respect for rightful authority, to build a spirit of unity, good & correct works ethos and Self confidence.
Q. Can a cadet get any award for some extraordinary work and performance?
Merit & Extraordinary work perfomance is duly organized at every level and is adequately rewarded in the NCC
